FIJI-Theta Backyard BBQ Bash

Every year FIJI and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority team up to throw a philanthropy event. In years past a poker tournament was organized but in spring 2008, we decided to throw a Backyard BBQ and a Cornhole Tournament. Despite the rain there were over 200 attendees and the collected money was donated and split between the Red Cross and CASA. The winner of the Cornhole Tournament got to take home a cornhole set of thier choice. There was also a silent auction for items such as a Capitals Jersey and Orioles tickets. Look for the 3rd annual Cornhole tournament in Spring 2010!

2009 Class Council Chili Cookoff

Brothers team up with the 2009 Class Council to throw a Chili Cookoff where competetors either bring thier own chili, or cook it on site and serve it to the public. People casted votes for thier favorite chili by standard paper and pencil or via text message. Two brothers, Kurt Lowery ('09) and Joey Meyer ('09) made a Bacon BBQ Chili that tied for first place with Alpha Sigma Epsilon's Red Hot Chili. All winnings were donated to Red Cross.
